Jessica + Kris

Jessica and Kris chose to have a Christmas, winter theme for their engagement photos. I loved the idea for a few reasons. First, winter light is absolutely divine with its soft, even cloud layer. Second, this time is my favorite time of year! Rarely do I pause on my way to or from work to admire downtown Chicago at Christmastime, and this forced me to really soak in and enjoy how beautiful our city is all year round. Enjoy, and I hope you had a wonderful holiday season!

Mr. Charlie Bimm

I had the pleasure of photographing one of the sweetest, funniest little toddlers for the second Christmas in a row. This year was quite the challenge - telling a child to sit and smile in front of a tree, presents, and a puppy isn't the easiest job, but it sure is entertaining. Charlie is always smiling, always happy, and always so excited that Thomas! is coming to see him as the trains pass by. This set of images is a small reminder of the wonderment of a child at Christmastime, and that we should all try to remember how simple and beautiful the holidays should be.

Nat + Erin

I had the pleasure of photographing my dear friends, Nat and Erin, in honor of their engagement with a unique, nautical theme. They are two of the most beautiful, sweet, funny people I know. Erin has been a friend and a sister of mine since we were little, and we continue to become better friends as we get older. We call ourselves the seven sisters between three families of all girls. We are blessed to not only be friends, but sisters that have been through everything together. Nat fits in perfectly to our "family" dynamic, humoring our inside jokes and crazy Christmas traditions. I am so, so, so very happy for the two of you, and am so grateful I was able to capture the beginning of the rest of your lives!

Brian + Shannon

Brian and Shannon had a beautiful wedding in my hometown of Aurora, IL. It was a blazingly hot summer day, but we made due by popping in and out of air conditioning while taking advantage of the gorgeous landcape of her parents' backyard and the historic downtown area. Anyone who has grown up in or around Aurora knows of the Paramount Theatre and its marvelous architecture and rich history. The food was amazing and catered by the bride's parents, and the dancing couldn't have been more timeless on the main stage. Congratulations, Brian and Shannon, and may you have a long, happy life together! <3
