Chicago in the wintertime is very similar to the natural act of hibernation. It is the perfect time to slow life down and catch up on all that needs to be. Movies, sleep, work, whatever you fancy - you should never feel guilty for spending a Saturday afternoon warm and indoors. I am going to take this winter to blog about my amazing, yet busy, Fall season. I was blessed to be a busy photographing bee, from weddings to landscapes to studio tests. I hope you enjoy as I look back to all that I have done in the past 6 months until Spring comes along!
The first weekend in October, I spend 3 days in the picturesque town of Galena, IL. This was the destination for the reception of my best friend Ali to her husband, Chris. Because they eloped to Vegas in the Spring (yes, they really did!), Ali and Chris wanted to celebrate with all of their friends and family in a casual, fun, and heart felt atmosphere. They did not desire the year long planning, but to do it their own way. This weekend was one of the most relaxing I have ever experienced. I was able to spend the entire three days with Ali's family and a few of my dearest and best friends. The Shoemakers have been my second family since our friendship began, and their energy and closeness has never disappointed. On Saturday afternoon before the festivities began, we spent the day downtown eating and walking around. If you ever have the chance to visit Galena, especially in the Autumn, I would highly recommend it. Enjoy the colors and old town feel while you sit warm and cozy in front of your computer. ❄

A lovely town! Can't wait to see more from Autumn - my favorite season of the year!
