Five years ago, I decided to step completely out of my comfort zone to study abroad at an art school in the small, picturesque town of Cortona, Italy. Little did I know that not only was I going to learn more about myself than I could ever imagine, but also meet some of the most inspiring, beautiful, creative, and best friends that I will ever have. From squeezing 5 girls into one bedroom in Tuscany to living in 5 different cities in the U.S., we all have remained just as close as we ever were, if not more. We continue to push each other to grow as artists and as human beings. Holly {Nashville}, Katrina {Brooklyn}, Libby {Fort Collins}, Alex {Houston} and I {Chicago} got so much more out of our abroad experience than we ever expected, and for that we are so very grateful.
This past weekend 4 out of the 5 of us were able to get together for a mini reunion in Holly’s current city of residence, Nashville. Our dynamic was off the entire weekend because without Katrina, we aren’t whole. However, we made due by sharing plenty of stories of our beautiful friend while she was off galavanting in NYC. Whenever I am in the presence of camera undici, I feel relaxed, at ease, peaceful. The weekend consisted of chats in coffee shops, walking around Nashville, chats on the bed, art, chats in the kitchen, more chats in coffee shops, more art, chats over dinner, chats while shopping. We can go on and on about every subject because we all have such different backgrounds and views on life, but somehow always seem to get along and challenge each other to expand our thought horizons. Here are a few memories from the weekend….enjoy! And to Jolly, Kat, Libby Lou, and Schwenksta - I miss you dearly every day!

Josh + Nicole
Our beautiful city of Chicago was the backdrop for the engagement session of Josh and Nicole. We could not have asked for a better Fall afternoon, and, for my fellow photogs, better lighting! Every time I meet with the couple I have the pleasure of getting to know them better and better as two fun, happy, driven Chicagoans. Seeing their great dynamic and strong love for life and each other could not be more fulfilling as a portrait photographer. I am grateful to share in not only their wedding day come April, but in the entire journey that precedes their nuptials. Josh and Nicole - thank you for welcoming me into your lives, and I am looking forward to the big day and everything in between!

cityblue apparel & denim
This Fall, cityblue and I teamed up for our second look book - fall/winter 2010. Mallory and her team at cityblue are the most fun, passionate, and inspiring people to be around. We have the greatest time putting together the photo shoots, from time and location to the final image choices. Mal and I of course could not have pulled this off without Andrea, the ever wonderful and beautiful P.R. and marketing manager of cityblue. Andrea puts her heart and soul into the company, and it shows! A shout out to our models, Maggie and Stephen (who flew in from out of the country hours before), who were patient no matter what conditions or poses we put them in. I feel so lucky to be half of this perfect union between cityblue and Julie Goding Photography - both started by two young girls following their dreams. Enjoy, and thank you again, Mallory, for always putting your trust in my work!
